BIO
Danny and Judy Sigmon grew up in North Carolina working on farms. Danny
as a farmhand on his fathers Dairy Farm and Judy tending to her family’s
two-hundred head of cattle. Breeding and showing horses were also a
big part of Sigmon’s lives as Danny dealt with quarter horses and
Judy has bred and shown Tennessee Walking horses most of her life. As
can be expected, both grew up in hunting families, hunting quail and duck
hunting for a mixed bag of dekes on the coastal outer banks of North Carolina.
Squash Hill Hunting Preserve in Matthews, NC owned by Mac Ballard (Danny’s
Uncle), opened the door for Danny as a gun dog trainer. By the age of 15, Danny
was guiding hunts, planting birds, and breaking dogs including his own English
Pointer, English Setter, and German Shorthaired Pointers.
From 1990 to 2003, Danny trained German Shorthaired Pointers exclusively
for a highly reputable breeder in Kansas. In between, in 1996, Carolina Gun
Dog
Kennels officially came into its own as a full-time versatile gun dog
training operation. For over 33 years, Danny Sigmon has been training pointing
breeds and versatile dogs that can do it all.
